Build a complete audio workflow from an idea to a polished listening experience. Combine recording and editing fundamentals with AI assistance for planning, transcription and cleanup. Create original educational or business audio and learn when human recording is the best choice.

What you will learn

  • Write an audio script and record clear speech in a practical home setup.
  • Edit speech, correct transcripts and balance narration, music and sound.
  • Evaluate AI cleanup and synthetic voice outputs for accuracy and natural delivery.
  • Prepare a podcast episode with accessible supporting materials and source credits.

Planned course syllabus

  1. Audio storytelling and planning: Define the audience, format, episode structure and a natural spoken script.
  2. Recording foundations: Choose a quiet setup, microphone position and recording levels; practise voice delivery and room-noise control.
  3. AI-assisted scripting and preparation: Develop outlines, interview questions and pronunciation notes, then rewrite drafts in your own voice.
  4. Speech editing and cleanup: Trim unwanted sections, improve pacing and compare noise-reduction outputs without damaging speech.
  5. Transcripts and accessible content: Correct automated transcription, check Urdu and English wording, and prepare useful captions or episode notes.
  6. Synthetic voice and consent: Explore text-to-speech with permitted voices, pronunciation and disclosure; only use another person’s voice with their explicit consent.
  7. Mixing and delivery: Balance speech and licensed music, review loudness and clipping, organise files and export suitable audio versions.
  8. Final audio production: Create a short finished episode, gather listening feedback and deliver audio, transcript and credits.

Practical assignments

Record a one-minute voice sample, prepare an episode outline, clean a noisy practice clip and correct its transcript. Compare two edits using clarity, pacing and naturalness criteria.

Final project

A 5-8 minute original podcast or educational audio episode, plus a 30-second trailer, corrected transcript, show notes, source/music credits and an AI-use statement. Submit the final audio and editable project files where available.

Who this course is for

Creators, teachers, freelancers, podcasters and beginners with basic computer skills.

Tools and learning approach

Practice uses an audio editor such as Audacity alongside selected transcription, cleanup and permitted text-to-speech tools. Headphones and a phone or microphone are sufficient to begin; a laptop is recommended for full editing. Free-tool options will be used where practical. Optional paid software, subscriptions or API usage are not included and will be identified before enrollment.
